Splash

In the time since we last blogged, we've had winter (snow on May 2nd) and summer (highs in the upper 80s this week), and a little lit of Spring as well (lots of rain). Emerson has had lots of fun playtime throughout. Here are some highlights:

We walked in AIDSWalk Kansas City along with several of Brandon's classmates. Emerson rode in a pack the whole way and did great, although I guess he got a little sleepy after a while.

We also checked out Riverfront Park...

And got Slurpees afterward!

Alison made some epic mole enchiladas for Cinco de Mayo and documented the whole process.

Brandon bought some chain for a home repair project, and Emerson had fun with it before it got used for its intended purpose. We taught him the word "chain," and he practiced saying it ("Nain! Nain!")

He has also gotten very interested in the concept of "outside." He likes to look out the door and has been working on navigating the step down from the house to the back patio. Today there was a lot of rain, and he had enjoyed watching it and eventually going out to splash in a puddle. Here is a video of some recent outdoor adventures.
