A few days ago my brother Spencer ventured out on his first ocean dive. Here he is at Redondo Beach, California. In a few more days he will experience his first boat dive near the Catalina Islands; an area with a large great white population. He is only 16 years old yet soon he will be a Certified Open Water Scuba Diver.
Now that I'm off the road and back into the real world, I've settled into a new pattern of life, which begins with:
Get up ridiculously early every day and go hang out with 7th graders for 4 hours!

but my classroom is actually in a trailer-type building in the back.
Middle school is not as traumatic when you're an adult. And they don't even smell bad.
I teach on Thursday...dum dum DUM!
