A Day in the Redwoods
On the last California day of our trip, we drove through the Redwood Forest. We also drove through a redwood tree!

Escape from Alcatraz!!!
A fake head similar to the one used in the 1962 escape from Alcatraz prison.

This man spent a few years at Alcatraz for robbing banks back in the '50s.
Back on the mainland, we rode a trolley. It was a little scary, especially when another trolley car passed very close to us!
We had a lovely Italian dinner at the Steps of Rome.

After hiking around Big Sur State Park, we headed over to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park to see the waterfall and the lovely cove.

We also visited the UC Berkeley campus. This building says "Psychology" in very big letters, but it actually hosts departments like biology and paleontology. Weird.
Brazil Cafe, a food stand where we had a delicious lunch. The best part of our Berkeley trip.

Big Sur revisited
We were able to spend a day in Big Sur during our trip up the coast. Alison was happy that it was too cold to go in the water! Here are some of the lovely sights. (In the last picture, Alison is being swallowed by a tree...kind of hard to see...)

La Crescenta adventures
We're having some problems with Blogger right now, so I won't be able to label the pictures individually. We spent a couple of weeks in La Crescenta this month on our way up to oregon. Here are some shots of an amazing repair job Carl did on some rust spots on my car. I think the pictures are in the right order. Also we had a great barbecue with yummy meat froma Mexican store!
