Thursday he turned one week old. He was not terribly interested in birthday donuts, but very interested in birthday milk.
This Saturday he rooted for BYU in their football game against Oregon State. Brisquette helped.
A friend knitted him this adorable pumpkin hat. He was not super excited about modeling it, however.
We've had gorgeous weather, so we've gone for a couple of walks. Emerson slept through both. Mom had to learn how to navigate the stroller over the curb.
I (Alison) wrote up Emerson's birth story. I wanted to remember the details of the day, plus I always enjoy reading other people's birth stories, so I thought I would add to the genre. It's quite long and has words like "cervix" and "stitches." If you still want to read, it's here: Birth Story

Great pictures! I love that Brandon is wearing the reunion shirt:-) And Emerson's eyes in the BYU hat! So wide open! Keep the pictures coming. And thanks for sharing your birthing story. I liked hearing it from your perspective.
Congratulations! I also liked reading your birthing story. Your experience sounds a lot like mine, except I did get an epidural (that didn't work). It was so much harder than anyone ever prepared me for! And traumatic! But you really do forget, believe it or not!

I have a slight obsession with birth stories, so I'm so glad you posted yours. Good to write it down before you forget, because you do. In fact, I took a notepad and pencil so I could take notes during my last delivery. So glad I did. Also I'm very proud of you for going natural. I'm a big advocate. I know it doesn't work out for everyone, but I think every mommy should try if it's an option. You did great! What a great entry. Good luck with all your "Firsts" with Emerson.
