More of the Same
This post contains something shocking and never-before seen... cute pictures of Emerson! OK, never mind. There's really no way to get around the fact that this blog has gotten pretty one-note lately. But what can I say, one member of this family is obviously more photogenic than the rest of us.
He loves Skyping with the grandmas and grandpas. We're not sure which he liked better--seeing his relatives, or having the chance to reach for and occasionally mash the laptop keyboard. Today we were Skyping with the Stones, and I glanced at the screen for a second, looked back and noticed that he had just put something in his mouth. Then I saw the keyboard out of the corner of my eye and noticed that the "Fn" key was missing. Luckily he was just gumming it around and I was able to fish it out of his mouth.
This kid is a technology addict already. His second-biggest object of desire is the TV remote. Here, mom and dad were watching the Olympics, but Emerson was cuddling up with his remote buddy.
We figured we ought to get away from all those screens and took a trip to the Kansas City Zoo. It was the first day in ages where the temperature stayed below 90. Emerson's second visit, but mom's first. The baby did seem to like some of the animals (the monkeys and the sea lions), but he ended up getting pretty sleepy. As we were pushing our sleeping kid around in his stroller, we noticed that a good chunk of the other babies /toddlers were snoozing as well.
This is still the zoo. It's located inside a giant park, and there is a lake/river/ large body of water that goes through the zoo. So partway through our visit, we stopped for a nice break and enjoyed the scenery. Emerson practiced with his sippy cup.
Oh, aaaaaaaaand, this:
6 years ago today, we got married. It was awesome! Still is.
