Emerson Skills and a Utah Trip

This video shows some of Emerson's new skills, plus you can see how he's starting to imitate and interact with us in fun ways.

He is doing so much eating these days that we decided to get him a high chair. Plus, when he's not eating, we can take off the tray and he can just sit in it--kind of a "Hannibal Lecter mode" (but cuter).

Emerson and Alison just got back from a trip to Utah to see Neil Elder Stone off on his mission. He'll be serving in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission in Salt Lake City. He doesn't have to spend any time in the MTC, so were able to drop his stuff off at his apartment and attend a brief orientation to learn more about the mission. We also got to meet his first companion, and snap a few pictures of them together.  More to come about Neil's mission (both here and on the Stone family blog)...

While we were in Utah, Emerson got to meet his Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Young. They babysat Emerson while we were dropping Neil off. When we got home, we found that Grandpa had discovered a great method for helping Emerson fall asleep...

The baby got to take a bath in the sink (this picture is of him crazily splashing around--did we mention he loves the water?).

We stopped by BYU campus and took a picture by the Massassoit statue. There is an exact copy of this statue in Kansas City as well, which we have apparently never posted a picture of here...we need to take Emerson to visit that one ASAP!

And then it was time to head home. Emerson was a great traveler, and fortunately our fellow passengers were very helpful in making sure we got everything through security and on and off the planes! (And don't worry--it was just the stroller, not the baby, that Mommy had to "claim at gate"!)
