Visitors from the North

Our good friends Ben and Melanie recently moved to the Midwest (yay!). They were able to come down with their two sons to visit us this weekend. We celebrated with a very large milkshake.

We always bring our guests to the Liberty Memorial for a view of the city and some picture-taking opportunities. After we took some shots, we were startled by a voice telling us to get off the wall. Turns out there are speakers hidden in the bushes nearby, and apparently there is a camera trained on the site. (We've been up on that wall several times before, but either they weren't watching then or didn't care.)

Ben and Melanie's son Oliver got this nice shot of Emerson looking pensive.

At the Nelson-Atkins Museum, another one of our favorite photo sites, we practiced our on-the-go diaper changing skills.

And of course we had to stop at Succotash. Emerson has graduated from sitting calmly in his carrier to sitting in a highchair and demanding bits of Mommy's food. (She looks grouchy about it in this picture, but there was plenty of pancake to spare!)

Brandon got some practice with having more than one kid. He did a pretty good job!

Thanks for the fun visit, Hays family!
