Peach Pie

I made a pie on Sunday. It was a peach pie. We had about 5 pounds of peaches left out of the original 25 pounds we bought a couple of weeks ago, and they were nearing the point of no return, ripeness-wise. So I decided to attempt The Big One: a deep dish, two-crust peach pie, all from scratch.

Yummmmmmm, peaches. Mixed with lots of sugar.
She has a knife! (For cutting decorative and functional vents in the top, of course!)
The finished product! Not beautiful, but it tasted dang good.
My parents were visiting for the weekend! They went to the BYU Homecoming game against New Mexico and spent the rest of the time hanging out with us. We're glad we got to see them, even if just for a couple of days!

Love your pie! And your apron. I don't think I attempted pies regularly until about 5 years ago and now I am pretty good at it. We made a peach cobbler/buckle thingy tonight (with a few fresh raspberries thrown in) vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream, delicious!!

I think the pie looks amazing! I have never made a pie from scratch, it scares me a little! Good job. Glad you got to see your parents too, that's always fun!

Alison, That looks terrific!! I'm very impressed with the presentation and I'm sure it tasted great too!! I'm jealous that I didn't get to taste it. Glad you had a fun weekend.Keep up your baking, when you can :) By the way, are the peaches still available for sale up there?
